Whitsand

This series looks closely at the rocks of Whitsand Bay in Cornwall, a coastline marked by constant change. Shaped by tides, weather, and slow erosion, the rocks reveal both strength and fragility. Their surfaces show the impact of water, wind, and rain — elements that carve and transform them over time.

What draws me to this place is the way how beauty and destruction sit so close together. The cliffs and rocks are distinctive in their forms and textures, yet this beauty is inseparable from the processes that wear them away. The cycles of tide and weather bring both renewal and loss, reminding me that change is inevitable.

There is a balance between beauty, fragility, strength, and endurance — all part of the same process, clearly visible in this landscape.
